The victories of war are well known but the victories of peace are little known. still, they are worthy of more respect than the victories of the war. This world was not as we find it today. Wide rivers separated one place from the other.
Now, we have great and wonder bridges on big rivers to bring men close to each other. Today people talk about going to another country just as they used to talk a few decades ago about going to a nearby village. At home, you can do your business by telephone.
Then there is the great discovery of telegraph, fax, and wireless. Messages can be conveyed from one place to another. These are only milestones on the road to progress.
They tell us what we have done. They please us and give us confidence by showing to us the great achievements of those who fought the battles of peace in the past.
